Suppose you are an elementary teacher, preparing lesson plans before going to the class is an important step to have effective organized lessons for your students. Lesson plans for elementary students is an effective tool in guiding you and your students to come up with the goal in the end of every conducted lesson. As said earlier, lesson plans for elementary students is your guide in teaching, then your lesson plan must consider the skills as well as the abilities of the students when creating it. it should be flexible enough so that the students can be able to grasp the ideas you are imparting to them quickly. Example, you are teaching grade II pupils, your lessons must be appropriate to them. Don't introduce ideas which are complicated enough that only a high school student may understand.
Much more if you are assigned to teach Science or Mathematics subject. You should be careful enough in teaching this to them. You should consider that these are complex concepts and they may not understand you quickly. Creativeness is needed so you can catch their attention and will make them listen and participate well during class discussions.
Being creative in teaching can make your students interactive enough. They will participate during class discussions. Through students' participation, it is a symbol that they understood what you have taught them.
You can also give assignments to them to be sure that at home they will still study their lessons. Give them assignments related to what you will be doing together in the next session. In this way, they can study in advance the lessons for tomorrow. It will help you both in not having a hard time in introducing and grasping about the new topic to be discussed. This is a good practice to them in studying advance because on the day of discussion, they are already prepared and can participate well during class discussion. The discussions will just somehow be a sort of review for the students since they had already studied it ahead of time because of the assignments you gave them. You, as a teacher, your task now is to add important information on what they had studied in advance and likewise correct them if the ideas they have in mind are wrong. So, that's it. Be able to prepare effective lesson plans for elementary students and for sure your class discussions will be having a challenging and smooth flow as you wish. Good luck! |
